Can’t Get You Off My Mind

In quite solitude or deafening crowd
Thoughts of you explode out loud
Nor work nor trauma nor if I’m dead
Thoughts of you still pound my head
As hard as I try in vane to persuade
Mind won’t let go its grip has invade

Lips pucker and taunt me with desire
Fever cooking my brain as if on fire
Eyes dark blue as the ocean is deep
Gaze to long can’t help but weep
Set out to engulf me in waves asunder
Gateway to your soul in awe & wonder

Ivory skin of a goddess’ perfection
Bathe in pure water lights reflection
Blinded but can’t keep my eyes away
Strutting legs, hips, & breast do sway
Smile so inviting to all that treads near
Pulled ever close because there is no fear

The memory of your voice haunts my brain
It floods my senses with emotions never drain
I long to talk to you in the middle of the night
Or stay up trying to find lines of poetry to write
Filled with pain and pleasure these senses I feel
Nor good nor bad do these layers of skin I peal

The hurt, pleasure, pain, ecstasy, agony, and strife
All tell me I’m not among the dead but know life
These beautiful sensations going through nerve endings
Reaffirm that I’m alive once more nor seek equal lending’s
Just the pleasure of your company and in your life be a part
I would walk through hell, pain, anguish, and a broken heart
