Out Behind The Barn

Out Behind The Barn

A Poem by Cherrie
"

Welcome to the terrible four's

"

Bad baby, do you not know that Christmas is at hand

but not as close as I.

With two glaring eyes and a foot to stomp.

Nana will clear up a little white lie.

This will not hurt me, not even a bit.

But you my dear, when with me will not throw a fit.

The terrible fours, this poem makes me gitty and feel like a kid again, tthe effect of assertion is cute, colorful and imparts a darling sense of lesson. Fits won't get anyone anywhere, kudos on your skills Cherry :)

Short and evocative. We can see the whole scene and don't need five more verses to know exactly how both parties feel! There is also a slight hint of a stern satire in those glaring eyes and darkness in the mention of hurt.

Santa is not the only one who knows when the kids have been bad... at least you approached it with some humor.

we have a whole list of things four year old danika can't do at grandma's house...but she's here every day, and does a fair share of sleepovers
