And They Don't Know..

And They Don't Know..

A Poem by Chesney W.

I own mixed feelings..
One minute I'm extatic,
The next I'm a sobbing mess..

I write because that's how I explain..
I don't let everyone know if my smile is fake..
Sometimes I even fool myself.

The only way you would be able to tell
Is if you read what I write..
And not many do.

I'm not much of a normal person,
But I try..
And I try hard.

Here's to the people who use a disguise..
Here's to the ones that nobody understands..
And they don't know that my poetry is how I really feel.

It's okay to be different! Who wants to be normal anyway? It's overrated in my book. Life is about you and your journey. No one should try telling you how to live it. Writing has helped me express my emotions more and to be more in tune with them, understand myself. It's also okay to wear a mask sometimes, but sometimes, it's necessary to take it off...show the world how you really feel!
