Flames of Peace

Flames of Peace

A Poem by Drinkup Babydoll
"

This is a poem I did for a quick write prompt. The prompt was "A Bridge too Far" and this is what I came up with.

"
I dare not look back, I already know what is there.
The smell of smoke still lingers in my hair.

I once cared too much, now I don't care at all.
Behind me is a bridge too far gone, I cant wait to hear it fall.

It will turn black with the flame of deceit, It will crash down with all my insecurities.
I can feel the comforting warmth on my back as the wind blows an ash-filled breeze.

I have never felt such relief, such joy from an ending,
But my heart feels at peace, it is finally mending.

A little chaos makes composure, a little disturbance makes peace
Try burning a bridge to put your soul at ease.
