Concrete Shoes

Concrete Shoes

A Poem by Chilson, Joshua
"

A Poem about life's struggle to obtain happiness in free verse.

"
Bank account negative
overdraft on happiness
material weight
like concrete shoes
will only pull you down
till needs are redefined
and like oil you separate.

Blitzkrieged by truth
thought life easy
till path swam inclined
resulting in slow decline
shedding the unnecessary
life smiles like the Cheshire.

That fading memory
forever a reminder
to obtain happiness
you must give your all
experience the good and bad
love what remains
and cherish every breathing moment.

About
I write poetry from life experience, though most won't seem that way as I never get into specifics to the events that bring about my work. I'm a silent individual for the most part which doesn't ma.. more..
