Paul Walker Poem

Paul Walker Poem

A Poem by Chloe Marie
"

I had to find a news article and write a poem about it for English.

"

Under cold clear skies,

a line of muscle cars in a slow procession.

Some are alone, while some are in convoys,

messages in honor of a man named Walker.

A detective in ‘Fast & Furious’.

A memorial canvas filled with names.

Crashing into a concrete pole and tree,

flames fill the air and engulf the pair,

both declared dead on the scene.

Friends drawn together by a love of fast cars.

The ending to the day coming much too fast,

reluctant to leave, a pause by the site of the crash,

covered in bouquets and prayerful candles.

A wooden sign with ‘The Racer’s Prayer’.

Lord I pray as I race today keep me safe along the way…
