To keep their kindness from showing

When it’s too thick

To keep themselves from showing

A character of yourself

With burgundy stains

 

I know why ladies really wear lipstick

To make wine glasses harder to clean

Next day reminders

And first impressions

And sparkling rings to capture away your attention

 

I know why ladies really wear lipstick

to cover stains from three glasses too many

A deep red, matching the bottles you keep in close proximity

it pairs well with red meat

It won’t rub off despite your biting

No one needs to know your proclivities.

I know why ladies wear lipstick... it begins and ends with wine

Perhaps it's time to switch to white
