Pain and Muses

Pain and Muses

A Poem by T. L. O'Neal

Pain and Muses

Written by: T. L. O’Neal

Emotion is emotion

Good or bad

Feeds the soul

The fires

That burn deep inside

Fuels my passions

The passions to create

Love or hate

It doesn’t really matter

Just release the muse

Set the spirit free

Release the madness

That’s inside my head

Let it go

What’s the outcome

I don’t know

Don’t really care

Just let it flow

Like a river

A river of love or hate

Sadness or glee

Creative spirit

Work for me

Don’t forsake

Let my madness

Be a blessing

Not a curse

Love hurts too

Much as depression

Rage

Hatred

Get angry at the world

And angry with the words

They’re all the same

The only difference

The outcome

Emotions

Feed the flames

In the end

It’s all

There’s nothing left

But

Pain and muses

Well put. Sad that the rest of the world rarely understands the way we feel and channel... some might say, the way we "cope." I like the way "we" take the mediums provided and create something of beauty that moves from setting to setting and reaches out to everyone to evoke some emotion. Well written as always, my friend... as always.

Indeed- Muses... I could go on a two page rant alone about them... However, I'll spare you.

I enjoyed the last grouping here:

"
Emotions
Feed the flames
In the end
Its all
Theres nothing left
But
Pain and muses
"
Cheers,

K.

Good thing you are agitated by your muse because you
got on a roll that carries through to the last word.
This is too good for me to mess up with fluffy words.
THIS IS GOOD !

Great stuff T. Your Southern blood was up in this one. I could hear the Allman Brothers singing, "Whipping Post." "Good lord I feel like I'm dying." You have blues in your soul. I love this compadre.

Hey T, nice work. You just about said what happens to us all who need inspiration to write, but you seem to be faster with the pen then most. Almost every other day you put something up on the cafe for us to read. I have 5 pieces started and I can't seem to finish any of them. Its kind of funny, I catch myself trying all different kinds of things to get myself inspired. I have to laugh at myself at the things I'll do. You are doing a great job. Keep it up.

I love the flow and the sense of urgency I felt when reading this. I always feel our emotions are our greatest asset to creativity. This was a great poem.

very well written, but I didn't like it as much, the single word lines seem to need just a bit more power behind them. but you got some great imagery and a great last few lines.

I started writing as a way to work out my feelings and found that I enjoyed it very much. I enjoy humor and feel that you can find it in most things, even though it may be hard to find at the moment. .. more..
