Saturday Night

Saturday Night

A Poem by Najera
"

What I remember from a party last night

"
The lights luminate the dark room.
Blindingly, silently and violently.
Until the music moves.
Conversations are harder to hear.
As the pounding of feet fills the halls.
Drinks are spilled and joints are filled.
The smell of vomit hangs in the air

As I sit back and try to make sense
of the world that is around me.
Slowly engulfing me and I can't think.
Thoughts are empty and my body is numb,
until it isn't and I am no longer being eaten.
I remember who I am and no longer this.
As I leave this world, watching it eat others.
