Sermon of Stars

Sermon of Stars

A Poem by Achroma

Against night black as coal
Divine light which guides our souls.
Gazed we did upon those stars
And carelessly cast away thoughts of who we are.

Adventure arises within our hearts
Seeking beauty in the dark.
Our eyes sought and caught wondrous dreams
And romance burst at it's seams.

An audience of ten thousand worlds
Lay witness to these sacred words.
I breathe in, get to one knee
And whisper "Honey, will you marry me?"

The stars reply "Yes" as her eyes shine
In that moment, stood still did time
When we embraced, together, in that field
And in the tutelage of starlight, our futures were healed.

Very pretty words, i like the use of the metaphors, and the descriptions are well thought-out, (unless this review).
At first glance, this would appear to be a rather simple four-stanza poem, with an equally nice four-line-to-a-stanza structure, which makes it easy to read, but, upon closer inspection, it has complex metaphors, (in my eyes,) beautifully-phrased descriptions, and a very interesting story for such a short poem.
I expect this to come up in English Literature studies in the future, and if not then i am very angry with whoever chooses the poetry to go into the anthologies, well done.
