Dead man's Path

Dead man's Path

A Poem by Fabula

Upon the shattered land lies dead man’s path

A place of more than terror, death and endless cries

Upon the battleground  they strike with hammer’s wrath

Through the toxic mist advancing with bloodstained eyes

More beast than man alike, they turn on their own kin

A savage roar reveals the horror of the night

More pain cannot solve what pain did not begin

For queen and country the soldiers are meant to fight

Upon the shattered land lies dead man’s path

A place of more than grief, blood and endless scars

Upon the wreaked road lies the lonely psychopath

Alien to the world, accustomed to the wars

More summers turn to winters as the sun fades away

But no living human being observes the cold chill

More minds are ravaged by the sight of those they slay

Submissive to the power of the devil’s will

Upon the shattered rocks pass hell’s gate

An old friend awaits from times long been

Upon the wreaked road death has cast his hate

The soldiers are tormented fighting for their queen

More flames are burning through the blighted soul

Striding forth along the dead man’s path

More hearts have turned empty like a black hole

No mortal being can escape dead man’s path

The warrior will walk the road many went before

Silence walks along with him nothing else will do no more

The tortured beast draws a last breath

Relieved he found his old friend Death.
