Endless

Endless

A Poem by Chrysalis

Another autumn

Many gone by

This one different

Seems more dire

Early wind warns

Cold from the north

Of trouble to come

Along the course

Mistaken forecast

Warnings ignored

Tempest crashing

On gentle shores

Without a crew

A ship sways

Fighting countless

Savage waves

Ruthless thrashing

In murky night

Weathered and beaten

The ship arrives

Docked along

Another coast

Worn and weary

But still afloat

Another season

Brief repose

Until the next

Gale blows
