Vampire

Vampire

A Poem by Chrystal Cora

A heavy expression,

And hollow eyes scan a dark alley.

A tall dark figure on wet black pavement,

So many simple beauties to behold.

Stop even for but a second.

Continue walking through the still night,

The damp and quiet air.

In a city full of personalities,

A few different intentions lurking the streets.

One lone, indifferent soul walking slow,

Directionless.

Finding peace and happiness in ones own solitary eternity.

That last line though! The whole poem was like a sweet and sour desert and once you think it can't get better, you top it off with ice cream - that's how I felt about this poem :)

I know this isn't a discussion, but am I completely wrong when I say I feel like all people are "vampires" looking for "peace and happiness" within their solitary or are you just using personal experience and speaking about yourself? I would really like to know your intentions with this poem...or am I reading way too much into this? :'D*

Oh ... that's a very captivating way to write something "vampirey". You play quite well with the threads of your very thoughts... extraordinary write. Loved the starting as well as the way you just make it to the end...

"Directionless.. finding peace & happiness in ones.. "

Very eye-catching line. Enjoyed reading it. Would be just looking forward to reading "you"!
