Stuck

Stuck

A Poem by CitrtgoW8P

Dragging your feet on muddy pavement

With a chewed up heart and starving eyes

You look down at your hands and you marvel a bit

At how cracked they are and how heavy they feel

Like boulders you struggle to keep them up

And you let them fall deep into your pockets

Resuming your unassuming pose.

This muddled up prose is all you know how to speak

And it spills out when you least expect it

The words just seem to float away with your ideas.

You hide behind your faces.

You stick to your paper guns.

You watch yourself decaying.

You lock yourself inside of your box.

You stare at nothing because it won’t stare back.

You strangle tomorrow.

You fear your own creations.

You walk around without any legs.

You avoid stampedes.

You stand on sinking sidewalks.

You forget whose face is in the mirror.

But no matter what, you’ll always remember

The lines on your face were drawn by her,

A long time ago.
