Self

Self

A Poem by Claudia Black

There’s a deep, rotting pain in my heart

That is spreading through every part of my body

Decay

Black

Burning

Bleeding

I claw at my chest

Gripping pain

it’s no use.

I can’t break

my skin.

It leaks into my thoughts

destroying my brain

Eyes are the door to the soul

Mine are black

Empty

I embrace it but

 it hurts

Because it spreads to those I love

And turns them black too

I had begun watching American Horror Story lately and it has made me a bit creative. Thanks for reading.
