A Place

I wish I could find a place,

Where everything is right.

Where everything is how it should be,

How I want it to be.

 

A place where no one knows

Me,

My past,

My present,

Or,

My future.

 

A place where I  

Can be whomever I chose to be.

 

Can this ever be?

 

Can I ever feel like I belong?

Like anyone cares?

 

It’s hard to believe

How alone we are.

In a world filled with misery and hate,

What can we aspire to?

Nothing will ever change,

Not here or in that place.

The only place that is safe is the one you find the most comforting. We sometimes look into our minds in search of this place, a place we feel at home and in which no one can hurt us. A place where we will forever be ourselves and never change. This place would be holy and untouched by the surrounding hatred of this world today.
