Iceheart

Iceheart

A Poem by Mason Rayburn

See my hand
Grip your heart.
Watch your world
Fall apart.
Deadly poison
Imparts your fate.
Laugh and watch it
Disintegrate.
Honest mirrors
Melt away.
If only they could repeat
The words you say.
Feel my hand
Upon your heart?
Bitter taste.
Love is so tart.
Open your mind
To the final score.
Love is innocence.
Love is war.
Bind me now.
Shackle this heart.
Prisoner that
The war begot.
Seek the end
In the icy grip.
Love's a wonder.
Love's a trip.
Unshackle my heart.
Set me free.
Only with you
I long to be.
I'll carve the words
Into my soul
More times than
You will ever know.
Meet your grip
With my own.
I'll break your heart-
This heart of stone!
My hand in yours
I'll melt the ice.
Don't let go.
This feels so right.
Keep it together
I'm still right here
Keep on smiling.
I'm still right here.
