I wish I hadn't already read so many poems about cutting on WC. That kind of kept it from having the full effect, because I think a part of my brain now shuts off when I read the word "razor" and I skim through the rest on autopilot. I don't mean to bash other poets; I just feel like it's over-addressed. I wish all poems involving cutting and razors could be this touching. The opening and closing stanzas really give this its own distinct story.
Wonderfully put together, the ending is my absolute favourite. "I guess for now i will remain a weeping bearded poet." There is something about beards that just seems to make the owner of it such a deeper person. Great work.
