Too many times, a persons good intentions/pride in country, is taken advantage of by those in a position of power

I used to heed the call

United across our land

A cry of Nationalism for all

Against our enemies we stand

 

Build our mighty forces with

A Million men of Troops

Battle ships sent overseas

Foiling enemy coup's

 

Words that build anger and rage

Come from the politician

Profiteers from wars we wage

That dirty wizard, magician

 

An in-depth education of

Man-kind's History

Provides a demonstration of

Our intentional misery

 

Calls to war are what I bought

People gathering like a herd

But when I gave it careful thought

The ideas were absurd

 

They said Freedom, Liberation

Are why we went to war

Oil and - the mighty dollar

Are what we're really fighting for

 

Soldiers sent to foreign lands

Save the people, they try

For Nationalism they raise their hands

Thousands senselessly die

 

Angry leaders tell them

To build their own aggression

Oblivious this invasions for

A few rich men's possession 

 

I think it's time we pause for

A true situation analysis

And put a stop to all this war

Allowed by mental paralysis

 

Give careful consideration

The next time we're on the brink

Instead of admiration

Pause to stop and Think
