One Track Mind

A poem about obsession

After it consumed all your time,

All your energy, all your thoughts

And you had a look back

Would you trade all the hours?

Or would you do it all again?

I'd do it again

Throwing in more hours than before,

Pushing close to ten thousand

Overlooking nothing

Taking in everything

Letting it control my every move.

Sleepless nights

If I can sleep,

I end up dreaming about it

A day went by

The thought almost didn't

Cross my mind.
