City Lights

City Lights

A Poem by ConfuzzledKidd
"

Pretty self explanatory.

"
On this day,
Twenty years before
I entered the world
I wonder what was different then,
Was everything the same?

My life began
My life will end
Memories blend all into one

Stop and shake a coconut tree.

The city lights are always shining,
My deepest fear is that I am inadequate
One light that no longer shines
Won't leave the city in darkness.

You are welcome!
Though I do not completely understand the line about a coconut tree or its presence in the writing, I enjoyed the way the piece as a whole made me stop and think. Well done.

I love this. The hint of curiosity to what life was like before you were born in nice.
