du u notice me

du u notice me

A Poem by Constance Payne
"

obtuse wanderings of the mind

"
do you even notice me
unless you need me to do
something like an itchy back
gets me noticed too

my heart breaks so often
when i try my best and then
you never seem to realize
unless i cannot tend

there is always something
that you need from me
but the silence i require
never does come free

i often need to be alone
that just makes you sad
then you pout and question
why i am so mad

my darling i do love you
but do i have to say
it every single minute
of every single day

when the words are not forthcoming
and my heart is laden deep
it does not mean i do not care
the words just seem so cheap

so many different emotions
i feel in seconds split
i wish for only good ones
so your heart i do not rip

my heart and life are yours my dear
but the world requires more
just accept the i love you
as i am walking out the door

i will be back at the end of the day
my love for you still real
deeply guarded in my heart
for those times i cannot feel

I loved the last part of this poem. It is so true. We love and hold on to love to get us through the times when it is most needed. Constance you hit a nerve with this one. The truth of a relationship is written in this piece. I loved it. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for reading. There is much truth in this piece, but the love is real.
This is so true in so many relationships. I see it all of the time. Your words will speak to many who read this, as they have to me. Very nice.

Thank you for reading.
Constance, this poem really speaks to me. Your words remind me of the relationship my grandparents shared; if my grandmother had been a poet, she could have penned these sentiments. It makes me sad that she had to constantly "prove" and verify her love, and even sadder to realize how insecure my grandfather must have been. They were married over 60 years - and still, he seemed unsure, and she had to work so hard to reassure him. A great poem, speaking volumes. Thank you for sharing!

fluid flowing words of your thoughts and emotions
it hit as almost relaxing to read
I truly like the line-unless I cannot tend-that is a true statement we are often over looked by loved ones until we cannot immediately drop everything and get to their needs
this was a nice read
