There were trim grains in the wood
that framed the streaming light
from a window early bright

which bent with a firm bristle

forms from a sweet morn.

Strokes of a strong hand,

"he's painting"

I said to the pillow.

to none, was I explaining
but he was there,

with his Modigliani oils

laying his soul bare.

Medium streaming thumb

in the mouth of palette

in cool colored thoughts

of blue-eyed mysticism,

Guacamole hues and the many,

warmed robes of Saratoga.

I felt a respect for the artistic process of creativity...
I also felt a strong nostalgia here...
This is like a painting in words. Details left just a little unfinished and each word like a paint stroke of intention to direct the mind of the observer.
Three cheers to Saratoga nights...

Hahaha...You are welcome...:)........................
What a fantastic write this painting has inspired! "he's painting".....oh, yes, the partner to the artist must understand or the relationship will never work. Beautifully written. Lydi**

Thank you G.O.D. :)
Now you know I'm going to enjoy this one. The Matisse adds of course to the ambience.

this appears to be a woman lying bed, watching her lover paint...admiring the mysticism, the art of him that has more to do than just with painting.

"in the mouth of palette/in cool colored thoughts"

i love those lines.
