Streets of Dignity

Streets of Dignity

A Poem by Corset

1.)
From dimensions of understanding
 I will
nurse thee from the womb of my heart
I will listen
for the notes that dance in your soul
we will co-exist like lips pressed against
both sides of the glass.

2.)
You owed me one good shot,
but you showed me the door and drank it.

3.)
What lies on the sidewalk is bound to pass out,
dressing table, end table and chairs
sit at me and stare
not a one of them with a bedroom to share.

4.)
Even the hottest days simmer down to mediocrity
after a time no one is to blame but familiararity
that's when the real challenge of love begins
with dignity
as thick as a kiss, thicker than thieves, as thick as flies
when you see everything in a cloudy afternoon.

Thank you for stopping in and for your very kind comments.
Real love is not all sunshine and rainbows... we see how some truly cares about us when we are down and out.

Simple magnificent writing.

oh what a collection...and no reviews yet...how could one read these and not react...for me the lines about the lips co-existing like lips pressed against both sides of the glass is perfect...the image it conjures literally and figuratively....wow.

and the last line of number 4, what a strong way to end that one...it is like one seeing clearly when others can't...or that everything we see is clouded...could go either way...i like how you allow that.
