white heat

white heat

A Poem by Corset
"

an ode to Heliotropism

"
white Heat
I WAS ONCE THAT SILLY GIRL THAT
BELIEVED THERE WAS A STAR IN THE GALAXY
NAMED AFTER HIM AS I WAS THE ONE TO NAME IT
I PRESENTED IT TO HIM AS A TOKEN OF MY ETERNAL
AFFECTION
 THE SUN OPENED HIS MOUTH
AND BLEW HER HOT KISSES
SPUTTERED OUT HER LUNGS
IN SONG
FOR THE MAKER
OF
cloying swell of summer wind
in the teeming
 BABY BLUE OF
CORNFLOWER HILLS
fields
  ALIGHT IN
WHITE HEAT
LIKE some humpback Cadillac desert
 A SUN,
some gleam of painter whites
SUMMERS Of MAD DOG 2020
GRAPE PURPLE AND SUNKISSED BRONZE.
should all MEMORIES be JUST AS BEAUTIFUL
lets not ruin it
SUNFLOWERS' FACES LOOK EAST
FOR  DAWN AND FOLLOW FOR SUNSET
CORNFLOWERS ARE LAZY
BUT THEY MATCH THE COLOR OF THE SKY
AND THAT IS ENOUGH.
