Star Light, Star Bright....

Star Light, Star Bright....

A Poem by CJ
"

it might make sense to you, or might not. do you ever look at the first star you see and wish for something?

"

Star Light, Star Bright….

You look up into the night sky,

To see the first star of the evening.

And you wish:

Star light, star bright,

The first star I see tonight,

I wish I may, I wish I might…

But then you stop,

What do you wish for?

A new car?

A cure for diseases?

An un-broken heart?

Or to just be with the one that you love?

Is a star really worth it?

Could it bring two together?

You can’t choose….

It’s making you very confused….

You just decide

To look up there,

And know that a star might not bring two together,

But you know that the special one to you,

Is looking up there,

At that same star,

Probably wishing for you.

Magnificent! This poem gave me a warm, happy feeling. :) It's like I can relate to it completely. I love it.

I love how much faith you put in the power of love. I really liked how you started with a traditional rhyme-wish that everybody knows, but then you interrupt it with your own musings on it. Questions in poems are something that I'm really learning to like, and I've been trying to put more into my own writing. Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece. Blessed Be!

wow, that was really awesome!!!! it made sense and it said that you have to just lean on love and trust love... i liked it, and that may not be how you saw your poem, and it's not all that is in this, but i think some of this is true... it was enchanted and almost magical!!!!

truly lovely!!!!
