Churchgoer

Churchgoer

A Poem by Kelly A. Brown

You asked me to go to Church with you

tonight

To find a new reason

To live a fulfilling life

We were scared.

We were alone.

The bells chimed as we

cried into our

Godsouls and

begged God not to

Die again.

We walked through the

Church's graveyard in search of

ourselves.

We held hands as I

saw visions of my

Youth.

The stained glass broke my skin

and I bled open like the

crucifixion.

God resides still in my mind, but I'm

not so sure about his place in

Heaven.

Interesting. Is this ending a conflict in converting ? I took it as that. I also took the " Church's graveyard as being the congragation. This piece took me into some areas that I could relate to if I am on point with my questions. Interesting
