Lovers Everywhere

Lovers Everywhere

A Poem by Kelly A. Brown

The fanfare

The racing heartbeat

The thrill

The surprise

The working man's plight

The Sunday mornings in

paradise with breakfast in

bed with our souls

bared,

open to

interpretation and

question.

Yeah...it's all

still there in the

morning light.

In the moments when we

are fighting to hold on

to the

night,

when the passion dies and it's

your hand in my hand and your foot in my foot and

your mouth in my mouth

makes my eyes twinkle

and my lips

turn upward into a soft

smile.

Yeah,

it's still there.

When you are crying to God in my lap

or cursing the world for your

heartache, I hold you

silently in the

dawn and never let

go until you are

sound

asleep like an

angel.

Yeah, it's still there,

And I hope it never leaves

or that would be

a very sad day

for

lovers

everywhere.

Simply exquisite!!! It is a poem about love and lovers...simple and deep at the same time. It holds fast to the little things that make being part of a couple so sweet and tender...
