Only For a While.

Only For a While.

A Poem by G. Anderson

Painted happy is my face,
As I prance around my sacred place.
The trees and bushes shudder, shaking
Free such emotional colors.

My windswept hair plays 'round my head,
As leaves of demise are slowly shed.
A breeze roams through my forest,
Cleansing of hurt, grief, and remorse.

But Only For A While.

The stems and stubs of spite and pain,
Lose their colors, but not their refrain.
The depression sings a slow threnody,
Forever tattooing my sad tragedy.

While the colors of leaves may change,
And while they disappear for a while,
Still leaves are leaves and grief is grief,
Just arriving in different styles.

So the scar sometimes hides,
Just wants to take a rest.

But Only For A While.
