This Realm

This Realm

A Poem by G. Anderson

I entered a realm of security;

of warmth and caring; of passion.

Before long, the rain started to

drizzle; to drench and pour; to drown.

So my heart was ripped out,

torn and slashed; cut and gashed.

The rain was too much to bear;

I bent too far and snapped.

The sky fell to the sea, the

clouds churned, sweating ashes.

The walls crumbled with grief,

the iron gates mangled and twisted.

This realm transformed, crashed;

It's dark and lonely, just excruciating.

This realm was my heart.
