End of Heartache

End of Heartache

A Poem by G. Anderson

Faintly beating,

frightened little ticks.

My fractured and tattered heart you give back.

The cracks and gashes,

 no adhesive can fix.

but I have my heart back, every little shard.

I stare at my scared little possession.

Battle-scars and pockmarks scatter its surface.

The warmth slowly fades,

receding under the scraps.

Tepid little thumps only remain.

My desolate heart is dying,

tightening, hardening into a little

Hard pit of what it once was.

It would be better to drive a stake through the

Tiny rock than to leave it like this.

You can't understand how you've ruined to purity of my

Soul by being so careless and conceited.

The end of my neglected little heart is the end of my love-

of happiness-

It's the end to my heartache.
