PROMISES.

PROMISES.

A Poem by G. Anderson

Empty words,

Useless thoughts.

No meaning or feeling.

Small reassurances,

Building false hope.

Readying for the crash is all.

Stupid excuses for acts,

Futile words to orphans.

Just an insult without action.

A cry from the soul,

Saying you're not brave

Enough to prove it.

Until you meet the

Person who thinks alike,

THEY'RE F*****G IOU'S!

Nice rhythm to this one. Really forceful and intense, angry tone and atmosphere. I love the blunt, yet metaphorical imagery. Not much of a fan for the structure and the font but it definitely gives it life and visual force. Well done.
