True Love Spawned

True Love Spawned

A Poem by G. Anderson

A fair, fair maiden, with hair so deep and red...
She never went wanting. She always warmed his bed.
When the night turned cold,
and the sky dark and lonely...
she sought the side of her master,
and forgot the turmoil of the world.

His dark eyes only opening to her soul,
the sight of her face will never grow old.
He holds her dear, in memories,
the lingering pale against the night.
With him she looses her hurt,
the sorrow, the strife.

This knight, his hair was dark and lustrous...
The curls brushed against the skin of the mistress.
The candles blown,
and doors closed...
Covers drawn,
and true love spawned..

My dark knight,
Never leave me alone.

I liked the medieval type setting and flavour of times past. It speaks of drawn passions that worship devotion... a very Victorian Ideal. Set in a pageant or tournament, would have set it right off in terms of discriptive... ending as you have, with a Dark Knights claiming the worship offered. I'm of course only offering the vision your poem created, not in the least suggesting it is lacking. It's a fine poem and I thoroughly enjoyed, its givin vision.
Excellent write.
