Nightmare

Nightmare

A Poem by Eliza Pleasant
"

This is a poem I wrote in my class. Enjoy!

"

Silhouetted by fears.

Footsteps unheard,

can't hear over heartbeat.

Eyes stinging,

hands shaking like crazy.

The faint smell of hospitals.

Neon lights barely light the way.

Cars zoom by.

You go unnoticed.

The feeling of helplessness sets in.

You're almost safe.

Can you make it?

I can see myself in this scene you described. Breathlessness is taking over. The last two lines really bring the fear out, makes your skin crawls. Nicely written.
