Leap Of Faith

Written for the group SHADES OF DARKNESS: Reoccurring nightmares is the theme.

water around me
water rushing by
waves splashing
water level
rising higher and higher
dare I leap to dry ground
do I have the nerve
the water, filled with trash
oily blood and filth
goes by so slowly
I can't avoid seeing this horror
water rising higher
I must now jump
if I want to escape
I'd swallow my fear
I take a deep breath
and leap......
