Dark Nightmare

Nightmares. Written for the Shades of Darkness group.

Snakes coiling
slithering
some bright red
some dirty yellow
some dull green
coiling about each other
looking at me
out of dark unblinking eyes
I try to hide
every hiding place
is full of this black snakes
with yellow eyes
with red flickering tongues
I hear the hiss
around me
inside me
I am choking on it
I run
snakes are everywhere
coiling and slithering
on the ground
no where to step
and the hissing
echoing in my head
I fall
I scream
no escape
this serpentine
fate...
