I am alive.

With a heart that beats,
And muscles that tighten.
With ears to hear,
And eyes to brighten.

I am alive.

With lungs to breathe,
And a mouth with a voice.
With running veins,
And a mind with a choice.

I am alive.

With lips to kiss,
And fingers to explore.
With feet to stand tall,
And knees to beg for more.

I am alive.

With joy in my palms,
And glee on my chest.
With an innocence in me,
And a song in my breast.

I am alive.
