DriftA Poem by Al R. ArceA poem of love lostYou drift away, though I wish you’d stay here You may not fade in time, but you still drift away I don’t know if an illusion was this affair Or maybe it was too passionate a play. This intense, unquenchable love Set roots deep inside my soul Don’t know when it started or when it’ll go of But without it I’m but a blank, ancient scroll Through the haze I see your face I feel I could never let you go As I see you in the distance fade You are tattooed deep inside my core As you drift away in this last moment I see my dreams erode to dust I keep you within me frozen To remember our burning lust. © 2013 Al R.
