The light that lacks itself,
The day that is not one
What are we afraid of?
That life will be undone.

That wholeness fades away
To emptiness we succumb.

Crossing paths with night,
This fright may be mistaken.
One thinks it is the dark,
That by morning leaves them shaken

The real fear is not the dark,
in the light this fear is taken.

In reality it's just that,
The reality we can not see.
It is just the unknown,
Standing right in front of me.

This is my first poem I have written on my own time. I didn't spend a lot of time on it and I would really appreciate any and all friendly, constructive criticism. :)
