Promises

Promises

A Poem by CryssinaKaiye

Promises

Little moments

Little glimpses of the way life could be

Times we'd wish would never end

Things we wish would always come true

I've made too many promises that never came true

I've had my heartbroken over too many promises

Each new crush opens up, and desires that I believe in promises

And each time I ask myself, "Why? they always turn out to be lies"

I've let myself get to close to promises

Holding on and hoping things would change

I've given too many second changes

I don't believe in them

They only break my heart

Only when I find that one true love

The one that will not break my heart

The one that will make all of his promises come true

Then, and only then, will a promise be real
