Her

Her

A Poem by Crystal Frampton

It's not about her looks,
It's about who she is; her soul,
There may be other beauty but something draws you to her; something unforgettable,
Her presence,
Or the fact she chooses to be herself,
That's the most beautiful thing about her,
It's what attracts you to her,
Negativity doesn't bring her down,
The false opinions people have doesn't affect her,
The world, as harsh as it is, is out there,
But she just lives.

Such a cute poem describing someone who holds beauty within as well as on the outside. It makes me think of that cheesy little cliche: There's more than meets the eye. And that's good to remember.

I enjoyed how you said her demeanor and her soul is "what attracts you to her", because I personally find myself gravitating toward people who are positive, people who shine light instead of complaining about the darkness. I also enjoyed the "she just lives" line. Simply existing is so much easier than getting caught up in all of the problems and disagreements or other negative things that life will throw at you.

Overall, this was a nice read. :) I hope you post more because this piece of writing left me with a good feeling.
