Love Condensates

Love Condensates

A Poem by Crystal Mullings
"

I am in love

"

We’re sitting apart
I’m staring at the steamy
Cup of coffee with the
Tears running down my face
My love life is evaporating
Evaporating like the stream from the cup
My heart sores
Like the crack in the cup
Someone tell me
Why does it hurt so badly?
Palpitations gently beating
Against my breast bone
As time passes by
Forever I will be haunted by his words
Forever I will be haunted by his touch
My mind reminisce to the days of love play
Waking up with his arms on my soft waist
Caressing my back where he left scratches
Love condensates

It is neat how you took simple things like a cup of coffee and painted a picture of loss and longing. Ah the memories and how they haunt us. Great work.

There's a lovely scene of contrast with the narrator's broken heartache sipping away from her like the steam of smoke from her tea cup. The good thing is the poem, though it's ssad, but it's so gentle in tone and flow.
