Garsdale Road

Garsdale Road

A Poem by Wild Rose
"

Runs between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District national parks > NO Mans Land

"

Twixed two national parks it goes

Along the river bank

Rises from the plain

To reach a height

Stay if you can to view the scene

Over the moor

Rise and fall

Twist hither and thither

To the far fell

By the cream house

Then over the top

The Garsdale Head Inn

The Stattion

On the Carlisle

To Settle

Rail line

Also the boundary

With another county

Cumbria and

The other National Park

I've never seen anyone describe a road like this (why not celebrate a favorite road?) . . . simple & straightforward, it reminds me of the times I travelled a favorite road so much that I knew every curve & landmark. I could feel the ups & downs as I was reading & I always enjoy finding out about other places I've never been. Thanks for sharing a favorite of yours (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
