a whisper of disconent

a whisper of disconent

A Poem by Jane Rapture

we are the forgotten civilization
destroyed
by your disease
we hide in crevices
and
s
l
i
p
through cracks in the pavement
we are of the thousands
and we are so unable
but
we will
unite
and watch them collapse
under our weight
a thousand cries of
discontent
the world will shake with our anger
we will reap
what we sow
at long last
no longer will we
be the cogs and wheels
for their machines
we will burn their skyscrapers
to the ground
so we might see over them, our future
and then
once the dust settles
the sun will rise
on our dawn and we
will govern our lives
the poor will no longer
hide in shop doorways
but stand up
and fight
and they will fear us
oh yes,
the bottom feeders
will stand glorious
Kings
of their ashes
