History

A Poem by CygnusX-I
"

My poetic take on History.

"
Tell me a spell of time,

Of war and sellsword

For the gallant and royal to refine.

Of the foreign barbarous horde,

Who went ever-chasing for wine.

Of the sacking of town and murder of lord,

So child will not know peace nor rhyme.

Of halls of knowledge galore,

Only to be still, catching dust and grime.

Why must we bring woe to our foe?

Don't walk in evil, certainly you reap what you sow.

I really enjoy old English poetry like Pope, Coleridge, or Blake. You'd probably like their poems.
