The Reigns of Fear

The Reigns of Fear

A Poem by Cyndy Robinson

High up on a hill
a wild stallion rides.
Mane flying in the wind...
hooves drumming the dirt...
In a dance of the spirit
united to the Earth's soul.

Fear snatched
slack leather leading reigns
choking the wild gallp
to a tame trot.
Alone against the wind.

Now the Earth slumbers
under heavy hooves
bundled in leaded chains.
Down in the coffee house
the gossips claim
"Someone broke the wild stallion."

Look deep into my eyes.
Look high up on that hill.
See my spirit galloping still,
my hooves beating
the Earth rumbling
the wind singing
wild and free
in harmony with my heart beat.
