The Tethered Doll: A Father's Grief

The Tethered Doll: A Father's Grief

A Poem by LaLaLaLaLaLaLaLa

The doll unfeeling, a remembrance,
To his daughter's resemblance,
A replica of her grace,
His grief too deep to erase.

He will not tolerate imperfections,
That tarnish his expectations,
His wife's concerns he coldly critiques,
Her love, in his sorrow, he leaks.

His daughter's loss, a gaping maw,
Her memory, a raging beast,
A doll, his last straw,
Keeping him leased.
