Lost, Not Forgotten

Lost, Not Forgotten

A Poem by Scarlett Moon

I know that you’re never coming back.

Gone forever, lost inside the black.

I know our time is now inside the past.

I can’t believe our time here couldn’t last.

You said everything was fine.

Does it dry these tears of mine?

One squeeze and it ends with a bang.

One final breath of the song the angels sang.

You went down a road that I cannot follow.

Now these walls just seem so hollow.

Memories replay inside my head.

Each one laced with dread.

I promise that I’ll never let them fade.

I won’t forget the things we’ve made.

Gone forever, but you’re still inside my heart.

Friends forever, from the very start.

Someday we will meet in the sky where we ascend.

I swear that our friendship will never end.
