An interesting first line. Maybe some do find comfort in failure. I don't. I can learn from failures, but rarely take comfort there. There was humour in this piece, as well as it being serious. I was pleased to stop by.

Hello, Dylan! :)
This was an interesting read. If you dont play the game you can't lose, unless the game is all there is. When I am wallowing, I enjoy the songs "skating away on the thin ice of a new day" and "mad world".

Yet Survival is illusion; Aging is our fate; Death our Relief.
Ergo Illusion becomes our Reality; and Reality our Illusion.

it's the journey where we learn our true self, while success or failure are only outcomes. They don't really define the courage in your heart to try. Thank you for sharing this thoughtful poem.

You would simply continue on the same path with the same inevitable end. The journey is the learning process that helps you grow and improve upon past failures which if you've learned anything will lead you to success. For an example there is a five foot thick wall in front of you that you are unable to get by. Punching and kicking it won't get you past that wall but maybe the strong jack hammer laying off to the side will. You could continue in futility in an action doomed to never resolve your situation or you can learn to find other ways to improve yourself and your dilemma that better resolves your problems.

Why do we believe that we are here to learn and grow, when, as it turns out, we haven't learned enough to reverse our imminent demise.
Reality has always been a Nuisance,
Now it's Real.
