Why are Men so Silly?A Stage Play by Dylan MacadhamA MINI-PLAY: 3 ACTS in 12 LINESTuesday ~ Lunchtime ~ The HappyBean Jill: “Why
are men so silly?” Jack: “What
do you mean? Are you saying I’m
silly?” Jill
shakes her head. “Not now, pal. But when
I first met you, yes.” Jack
winces. “Yeah, my first words to you were, ‘Do you use dental White Strips?’” . . . Jill
raises her eyebrows. “You remember that, huh?” Jack
nods. “As though it were a knife in my chest.” Jill: “You
said it even before I caught your name. Whatever were you thinking?” Jack
blushes, clears his throat. “ … That you were hot--my solitary thought.” . . . Jill
smiles. “Thanks, but what’s that got to do with your silly question?” Jack gazes at his coffee. “… Perhaps pretty
women think men are silly because when we meet you we’re trying so hard to say something intelligent that it invariably comes out
stupid.” Jill smirks. “Would that also explain why you
addressed your dental question to my … chest?” © 2021 Dylan MacadhamReviews
